ANYmal

ANYmal is a rugged quadrupedal robot developed from ETH Zurich research for autonomous inspection in difficult industrial environments. It combines compliant actuators with mapping, localization, path planning and foothold selection to move across indoor and outdoor terrain, stairs and rough ground. Optical, thermal and gas-detection payloads support repeatable inspection missions and help keep people away from hazardous sites. The platform can walk, trot and recover from challenging positions while collecting data for operators. Its modular design allows sensors and mission software to be adapted to different inspection tasks without changing the core legged platform.
